How Marketing can help your Massage Business Thrive

This hands-on lecture/interactive workshop is vital if you want to continue to have a practice in these difficult times.  It teaches marketing, promotional and sales skills so that your massage business can be well positioned, a marketing term that differentiates you from competitors.  The workshop also shows you how to incorporate successful promotional programs from other industries, develop niche markets for stimulating your massage business, develop a “sales force” that encourages sporadic clients to become regular ones, and inspires clients and health care professionals to actively refer clients to you.  Please bring a notebook, a pen and a desire to build your business.

How to Communicate Effectively

This highly interactive workshop will teach massage therapists communications and listening techniques to empower their massage businesses, transform negative patterns in relationships, and create positive breakthroughs. They'll learn how to communicate the truth quickly, effectively and kindly, avoiding unexpressed communications that hold back so many client relationships.

Attendees will also learn a writing technique to help them forgive clients and others, enabling strained or broken relationships to be repaired. This has the effect of creating more positive relationships and often income, as well.

Attendees will also learn techniques for acknowledging clients and co-workers, resulting in warmer, closer and deeper working relationships. They'll learn how to master “Tele-connecting,” the art of using the phone to inspire ex-clients back to their practices, and transform irregular clients into regular ones.

Students will learn how to broach sensitive, delicate and uncomfortable topics with clients such as raising fees, cancellation policies, missed appointments, and the collection of payments.

The Write Stuff: Everything you Need to Know about Everything you Need to Write

Massage therapists are trained in the healing art of touch, but are not trained in the art of the “writing” touch needed to help promote their massage businesses. This interactive workshop, which will teach how to effectively write a variety of public relations, promotional and advertising materials, will correct that oversight.

Course participants will learn how to write bios, press releases, newsletters, story ideas, articles, ads and ongoing columns for local personal growth- oriented magazines and community weekly newspapers. The instructor, who ran his own public relations and marketing company for 18 years, will expose students to effective examples of each of these written forms of communications.

Cary Bayer was the keynote speaker at the 2006 American Massage Therapy Association convention. A Life Coach in Florida and New York, he's worked with Oscar-winner Alan Arkin, David Steinberg, Quality Inns, and more than 100 massage therapists, and ran his own marketing/PR firm for 18 years. He founded The Breakthrough Aerobics Inner Workout, and authored two dozen publications on personal growth, including The Prosperity Aerobics; Breakthrough Coaching for Massage Therapists; Reach out and Touch Someone: Tips for Marketing Massage; Massage Therapists and Money; Affirmations for Massage Therapists; and Knowledge for Power and Success: The Keynote Address for the 2006 American Massage Therapy Association National Convention.
